A Legacy of Love

"When we live an immoral life, then God, through our conscience, still
guides us but we do not hear him as clearly. But for those who live
morally, the conscience is very clear and it speaks very loudly. That
is God speaking through us to us.
Therefore, your question is most important regarding your ultimate
entrance into the eternal, spirit world. The best way to prepare for
that is to follow the religion of love. This means, love everyone,
unconditionally. Love individuals as you love yourself; treat them as
you would treat yourself. In the practice of that kind of love you
become the favorite place for Heavenly Father to dwell most fully.
Celebrating Your Own Divinity
You cannot come to the spiritual world and find God here unless you
find God on earth, in yourself. If you find him in yourself, speak to
him and celebrate your own divinity - the center of which is him
- when you come here, immediately your heart will know that God
lives in you. And you will see him in everyone and in everything.
Practice that on earth now. When you look at a flower, you already do
this. But now do it on a deeper level. When you look at a flower, try
to see God's genius in it - God's beauty, the truth of God, God's love
- in its color, its shape, its texture, its fragrance. When you look at
a dog or even a bug, a rock or crow or another human being, look for
God. Look for God in each one of them. If you will practice that for
the balance of your life, then gradually the blindness regarding God's
existence as being in everything, everywhere will disappear. And in
your latter years you will begin to "see" more and more fully the
reality of God's presence in everything, everywhere, at all times! That
is the most important thing.
But first, see God in yourself. It begins with gratitude. Gratitude for
life. Gratitude for all blessings. And then take the time to commune.
Not just to ask him for things. Not just to talk to him in times of
need. But truly - as you sit on the porch swing or anywhere and in your
mind - hold his hand and allow him to hold yours. Let him come
and embrace you and show you his love. His is a love that transcends
physical love, that transcends human love. Let him pour over you and
through you with love. Let him emanate from you to others.
Jesus tried to teach this reality when he said, "I am in the Father,
and the Father is in me. He who has seen me has seen the Father." He
also said, "If you do as I ask of you, I will no longer call you my
servants, but my friends." He spoke of a state of equality, meaning
that that which he was, you can become. So, if in your mind Jesus is
the best example, follow and imitate him.
In any case, God is not restricted by man's concept of him. God can be
whatever he wants to be and anywhere at any time that he needs to be,
in order to lead one of his children home. In other words, he may be a
rock. He may be the music on the radio speaking. He may be the silent
voice in the heart. He may be something that you read in a newspaper.
God will use every facet of life to reflect himself to us, to show
himself to us, and make his presence known. Expand your thinking in
this way, realizing again that you are the "church," and that the most
important "church" is you..."
